The Story

I was copying a border design from an early twentieth century Bandoneon (A German concertina design popular in South America) when I became fascinated by the instrument and decided to draw it.

By drawing the instrument in a fixed perspective, I hope to liberate the object from its purpose.
Some of the elements shown (like the valve lever) are integral, others completely decorative. They all come together to create a form that is beautiful in itself without the viewer needing to know what the subject is, or what it is used for.
